Persona 5 Screenshots & New Assassin's Creed - Game Watch Weekly #16
The week's biggest PlayStation stories, and my reactions to them! First published: 09/05/2015.
Please note that some stories included come from last week, when GWW was cancelled. Enjoy.
The Konami/Kojima Saga Continues With PT
Last week it was announced that the new Silent Hills game, from Konami and Kojima, was cancelled. Then it was announced that the playable teaser trailer (called PT [which stands for playable teaser]) was going to be removed from the PSN, the only place where it was available to download and play. Since then it has been removed and even if you had bought it, but hadn't downloaded it the teaser is no longer available to you. To be able to play it again it must still be installed on the HDD of the PS4.
Shadow Of Mordor GOTY Addition For PS4/Xbox One/PC
Last week, Warner Bros. announced a Game Of The Year Edition of Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor. The edition includes all the DLC from the game, as well as other new features including a photo-mode. It costs $50 in North America and was released on the 5th May. For the full list of features head over to the Gamespot article.
I still haven't got around to playing Shadow Of Mordor. As a huge Lord Of The Rings fan it's probably something I should pick up, but something has always kept me from buying it. Have you played it? Let me know in the comments!
PS+ Games For May
Last week Sony announced the PS+ games for May. PlayStation 4: Ether One, Guacamelee Super Championship Turbo Edition, Race the Sun, Hohokum and The Unfinished Swan. PlayStation 3: Hohokum, Race the Sun and The Unfinished Swan. PlayStation Vita: Hohokum, Murasaki Baby, Race the Sun and The Unfinished Swan.
PS4 Ships 22.3 Million Units....
As part of its report for the fiscal year running from April 1st 2014 to March 31st 2015 Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 has shipped 22.3 million units. This is compared to just under 10 million for the Wii U, and an unknown Xbox One figure. The last number Microsoft released regarding their newest console was in November 2014 when the figure was close to 10 million. One can only assume that it's somewhere between that 10 and 15, otherwise a figure would have most probably been announced.
...2 Million Of Which Sold In The UK
Sony has announced that the PS4 has sold 2 millions units in the UK, thus being the fastest selling PlayStation to do so. Previously it was the PS2 that held the title.
Dragon Age: Inquisition - Jaws Of Hakkon DLC Finally Coming To PS4...
After causing controversy when the DLC only launched for PC and Xbox One back in March, the Jaws Of Hakkon story will finally come to PS4 on May 26th. It will cost $15 in North America. The DLC lets players explore an "ancient Tevinter fortress that hides a dangerous secret."
...Along With Free Piece Coming In May
BioWare and EA announced last week that two free pieces of Dragon Age DLC would be coming to all consoles (both new and last gen) and to PC. The first is entitled the Black Emporium and adds a new shopping destination where weapons, armor and more will be available for purchase. The second, called Dragonslayer, allows players to face off against dragons and also adds a new castle to Ferelden. Both were released on May 5th and are available to download.
New Persona 5 Screenshots
Along with a new section of their website, Sony's Japenese PlayStation website has added some awesome-looking new screenshots for upcoming JRPG Persona 5. You can go view them over at Gamespot.
Next Assassin's Creed Game To Be Revealed This Week
Ubisoft have announced that the next Assassin's Creed game will be officially revealed on Tuesday the 12th May at 17.00 BST/09.00 PST.
Sadly for Ubisoft, the information has leaked ahead of the reveal. Instead of being called Assassin's Creed: Victory - as was initially leaked on Kotaku - the next game in the franchise will in fact be called Syndicate. Personally I prefer Victory. What do you think? Let me know in the comments!
